Redskins Injury Report: Brian Orakpo, Trent Williams, Jordan Reed

By on 10/11/2014 09:15:00 AM

The Washington Redskins have already had a brutal season in regards to injuries, as most of the NFL this year.  After playing in Thursday Night Football and then Monday Night Football, the latest injury report has 13 players heading into Sunday's match-up versus the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.

Headlining the Redskins injury report is quarterback Robert Griffin III who is out with a dislocated ankle and cornerback Tracy Porter who is listed as out with a hamstring injury.  These two are not surprises, as they have been out for a few weeks now.

Week 6 will be a challenge for the Redskins, as linebacker Brian Orakpo (ankle) tight end Jordan Reed (hamstring), linebacker Perry Riley, Jr. (knee) tackle Trent Williams (knee) and safety Ryan Clark (ankle) are all listed as questionable.

Riley, Jr. did not practice all week, nor did Clark, and both are expected to be game-time decisions.  Clark is optimistic about playing, as his ankle sprain has been not as bothersome as expected.

The good news for Washington is that defensive lineman Kedric Golston (groin), defensive end Jason Hatcher (hamstring), linebacker Akeem Jordan (knee), defensive end Frank Kearse (thigh), guard Shawn Lauvao (knee), tackle Tyler Polumbus (finger), safety Trenton Robinson (ankle) all participated in practice all week and are listed as probable.

Tackle Trent Williams missed practice Wednesday, but returned on Thursday on a limited practice basis and remains questionable for Sunday.

One of the main players that the Redskins have been watching for over five weeks is tight end Jordan Reed.  Reed was drafted in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the Redskins and has only played in 10 games.  He has posted a career 46 receptions for 503 yards and three touchdowns in two seasons.  In 2014, Reed has one reception for four yards.  Reed has struggled with a myriad of injuries including multiple concussions, hamstring issues and a finger injury during preseason of this year.

Thankfully, tight end Niles Paul has recovered from a concussion suffered on Thursday Night Football vs the New York Giants nearly two weeks ago.  Paul has a career 36 receptions for 547 yards and two touchdowns in 49 games played.  This year, he has amassed 22 receptions for 319 yards and a touchdown.

The Washington Redskins take on the Arizona Cardinals Sunday at 4:25 pm EST at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona.
