Rockets Injury Update: Jason Terry misses practice due to pulled hamstring

By on 10/04/2014 09:01:00 AM

Newly acquired Houston Rockets guard Jason Terry has been unable to practice with his new team due to a pulled hamstring.

As reported by Jenny Dial Creech of, despite the setback, Jason made sure that he was at every practice, bringing the kind of veteran leadership this team is so obviously lacking. Even teammate James Harden shared some nice thoughts on Terry’s presence.
“Its great to have him here,” Harden said. “He has so much experience and knows what it takes to win. We can learn a lot from him.”
I do find what Harden said puzzling, especially after both Dwight and Harden were so vocal about their teammates this summer. It’s possible that while on Team USA Harden’s coaches and teammates gave him some advice, and that what he said was actually genuine. I would like to think so, Harden is an amazing athlete and amazing athletes should recognize when they can learn from someone. “The Jet” has played with and against some of the greatest players and coaches and locked up an NBA Championship along the way - something both Harden and Howard desperately need.

In a nutshell, this team is going nowhere. I’m sure Terry will have an effect on the younger players, but Harden and Howard are too far-gone. How can you publicly devalue your teammates and expect them to respect you on the floor? Not cool.
