Royals Injury Update: Kelvin Herrera cruises in scoreless inning after forearm scare

By on 10/06/2014 07:45:00 PM

There was fear in Kansas City that Kelvin Herrera injury was going to be a devastating blow to the bullpen, but he proved in game three of the American League Divisional Series against the Los Angeles Angels that he is healed and more than ready to pitch.
His dominant inning of work silenced all concerns that any arm injury would linger.

Herrera has been one of the best pitchers on the Royals staff this season.  Through 70 innings of work he has allowed just 11 earned runs.  He has gone 4-3 with a 1.41 ERA.

If there were still any concerns, Herrera has certainly has some time to rest.  By sweeping the Angles, the Royals will not be back on the field until Friday night, giving him at least four days off before his next outing.  When his name is called to pitch in the ALCS, he is sure to pitch and should be expected to be at the top of his game.
