Saints Injury Update: Jimmy Graham to miss 2-3 weeks

By on 10/12/2014 12:35:00 PM

The New Orleans Saints' season has been tough to figure out so far. They've had struggles on both sides of the ball, but now things have gotten worse. Star tight end Jimmy Graham is expected to be out for a couple of week with a shoulder injury--a big blow to a team already struggling.

Ian Rapoport tweeted out this morning that the expectation is for Graham to miss about 2-3 weeks. That will hurt Drew Brees and the Saints' offense significantly. The injury, a shoulder sprain, was sustained last week vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The positive, if there is one, for the Saints is that they have had an extra week to game-plan, knowing that there was likely no chance Graham would be able to play next week vs. the Lions.

One has to wonder if there will be any sort of systematical or scheme changes for the Saints without Graham. They may look to run the ball more with the return of Mark Ingram looming, and the Saints wide receivers have not exactly been phenomenal this season. Next week is going to be a challenge for the Saints, because at 2-3, it's time to start playing the way they are capable of, or else they will face the music from the fans and media of being a sub-par team.
