Saints Injury Update: Jimmy Graham suffers sprained shoulder

By on 10/06/2014 01:30:00 PM

The New Orleans Saints faced several scares on Sunday. They nearly lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but prevailed in overtime, and star tight end Jimmy Graham exited the contest with a sprained shoulder. The Saints are entering their bye week in week six, which will allow an extra week for the touchdown catching machine to recover.

The injury to Graham's shoulder is not thought to be serious according to Mike Florio of PFT. In is unclear right now whether he will be available when the Saints next take the field on October 19th.

On the season, Graham has 34 receptions for 376 yards and three touchdowns. He had just two catches for 36 yards before leaving the game and the Saints offense was not the same with him out of the game.

With two weeks between games, there is plenty of time for a minor injury to heal, but we will have to monitor his progress once the Saints return to practice following the bye weekend.
