Seahawks Injury Report: Zach Miller, Bruce Irvin, Alvin Bailey

By on 10/06/2014 02:00:00 PM

The Seattle Seahawks will travel across the country for a clash with the Washington Redskins on “Monday Night Football” with a key new name on their injury report:

Tight end Zach Miller underwent ankle surgery during Seattle's bye week and will be out for an unknown period of time. Miller is not a huge pass catching threat but is one of the best blocking tight ends in the NFL.

Backup Luke Willson, who can stretch the field vertically but is not as good at blocking, will now likely start at tight end for the next few weeks. In any case, the Seahawks' offense will look a little different Monday night.

The Seahawks suffered another depth hit in practice this week, as offensive lineman Alvin Bailey will be out with an oblique injury. Bailey is not a starter, but is a capable backup at the tackle positions should Russell Okung or Justin Britt go down.

Reserve cornerback Tharold Simon will also remain unavailable due to a knee injury. The Seahawks should have everyone else available and healthy Monday night.

Defensive end/linebacker Bruce Irvin is listed as probable with an oblique injury after missing Seattle's Week 3 win over the Denver Broncos. Backup cornerback DeShawn Shead is also probable with a knee injury.

Running back Marshawn Lynch appears on the injury report as probable after he missed practice on Thursday, but it appears to be for a non-injury reason.
