Seahawks Injury Update: Jeremy Lane returns to practice

By on 10/23/2014 08:00:00 AM

It has been a difficult few weeks for the 12th Man in Seattle. They have been forced to watch their team drop a home game to the Dallas Cowboys, trade one of their most explosive players, and then lose a close one to the St. Louis Rams.

One of the team’s main issues has been the slew of injuries that has decimated the starting lineup on both sides of the ball. The Legion of Boom, also known as Seattle’s secondary, took a hit in week one, when slot corner Jeremy Lane aggravated a groin injury. In his stead, second-year player Marcus Burley has struggled to fill in.

However, this week Lane returned to practice for the first time since being placed on the injured reserve (designated to return). Still three weeks away from being eligible for game action, head coach Pete Carroll said that Lane is on track to return to the lineup for the Seahawks Week 10 matchup against New York Giants.

During his three year career with the Seahawks, Lane has played in 19 games; starting four. He has recorded 44 tackles and deflected four passes. He was anticipated to take over for the productive slot corner Walter Thurmond III, who bolted for the Giants during the offseason.

There is no doubt that the Seahawks are anxiously awaiting Lane’s return.
