Sixers Injury Update: Nerlens Noel missed game against Nets due to illness

The Philadelphia 76ers lost to the Brooklyn Nets on Monday by the score of 99-88. The loss dropped the 76ers to 2-5 on the preseason. Henry Sims and Tony Wroten lead the 76ers with 13 points each. The team was without Nerlens Noel for the third consecutive game due to illness.

Our own Riley Jones reported on October 16 that Noel, who missed practice due to flu-like symptoms, was expected to play against the Celtics. As it turned out, Noel did not play and has missed the last three games due to illness.

Keith Pompey, who covers the 76ers for The Philadelphia Inquirer, tweeted the following team injury update.
There is no word whether or not Noel will be able to play in the 76ers preseason finale on Thursday against the Detroit Pistons.  Noel is averaging 8.9 points, 8.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.7 blocked shots in three preseason games. He's expected to be the starting power forward when the season opens.
