Sixers Injury Update: Ronald Roberts Jr. misses practice with a quad strain

By on 10/16/2014 10:45:00 AM

The Philadelphia 76ers head into tonight's preseason game against the Boston Celtics with a record of 1-3. Coming off a dismal 19-win season a year ago, the 76ers are in a complete rebuilding process. The biggest issue is improving on a defense that was 30th in the NBA in points allowed at 109.9 per game. On the injury front, rookie power forward Ronald Roberts Jr. missed practice on Wednesday due to a quad strain. He's unlikely to play tonight.

Dphilmore via Wikimedia Commons reported that Roberts, a 23-year old rookie from Saint Joseph's,  missed practice on Wednesday due to a quad strain.  Roberts has seen limited action in four preseason games with a high of four points and two rebounds in nine minutes on October 6 against the Celtics. Unlikely to make the team, Roberts probably will head to the D-league.

Roberts averaged 14.4 points and 7.4 rebounds in 33.3 minutes per game at Saint Joseph's last season. A four-year collegiate players, Roberts improved each season in college and finished with averages of 10.7 points on 57 percent shooting and 6.6 rebounds in 131 games.
