Stars Injury Update: Patrik Nemeth Suffers Significant Arm Laceration

By on 10/19/2014 05:38:00 PM

Dallas Stars defenseman Patrik Nemeth suffered an arm laceration on Saturday night after taking a skate to the wrist in an awkward fall against the Philadelphia Flyers. Pat Iverson from SBN reported on this gruesome injury and shared a quick video of how it occurred.

Patrik Nemeth did not return to the game and is currently out of the lineup indefinitely. Dallas went on to lose the game 6-5 in overtime. Earlier today, Dallas coach Lindy Ruff stated that “an update will be shared on Monday, but it looks like Nemeth will be out for a good period of time."

The Stars are still shorthanded in terms of defenseman and will look to their AHL affiliate for a player. Earlier today they called up defenseman Jyrki Jokipakka to provide some support while the length of time Nemeth will be out is determined.  Through five games, Patrik Nemeth does not have a goal or an assist. This is Nemeth’s first full season with Dallas.
