Stars Injury Update: Valeri Nichushkin Out for Tuesday’s Game

By on 10/14/2014 04:47:00 PM

The Dallas Stars have ruled Valeri Nichushkin out for Tuesday’s game against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Mike Heika at The Dallas Morning News reported that Nichushkin stayed in Texas for tests on his injured groin/hip.

Valeri Nichushkin, a 19-year old right winger, was sixth in total points (14 goals and 20 assists) for the Stars in the 2013-2014 season while playing in 79 games. Depending on the doctor’s analysis, Nichushkin could join the team in Pittsburgh for Thursday’s game against the Penguins. Valeri Nichushkin has been battling hip and groin injuries for the duration of the preseason and the first two games of the regular season. Dallas is currently 0-1-1 and in search of their first victory of the season.

If Nichushkin continues to be out of the lineup, it would create more playing time for recently recalled winger Curtis McKenzie from the Texas Stars.
