Steelers Injury Report: Marcus Gilbert, Ryan Shazier, Steve McLendon

By on 10/26/2014 01:36:00 PM

The Pittsburgh Steelers enter their Week 8 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts with several notable players listed on their injury report, including Ryan Shazier, Steve McLendon and Marcus Gilbert.

Gilbert is recovering from a concussion suffered during Week 7, and the offensive lineman sat out all week of practice. He is considered doubtful to play today.

Shazier looks like he’ll be returning to the lineup as he’s recovered from a knee injury. The linebacker was limited early in the week, but he returned as a full participant Thursday and Friday. He’s probable to play against the Colts.

Nose tackle Steve McLendon is dealing with a shoulder injury and has been ruled out for Week 8. Pittsburgh will also be without cornerback Ike Taylor and safety Shamarko Thomas. Veterans Mike Mitchell, Troy Polamalu and Brett Keisel were also listed on this week’s report, but their conditions were not injury related, and they are probable to play.

The Steelers enter the weekend trying to stay in the mix atop the competitive AFC North. While they’ve had a disappointing season overall, they enter their contest against the Colts a game over .500 and guaranteed to have one of the two teams above them, the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals, come out of the weekend winless.

  1. #BALvsCIN is all but guaranteed. Both teams having a tie could be advantageous, but of course I'm rootin' for the Bungles.
