Texans Injury Update: Brian Cushing out Sunday

By on 10/24/2014 10:54:00 AM

The Houston Texans' linebacker, Brian Cushing (Knee), will be out for Sunday's game. It was clear Monday night as Cushing tried to chase down Le'Veon Bell, he didn't look physically right, as reported by Dan Hanzus Around the NFL writer.

NFL insider, Ian Rapoport, reported late Wednesday night that Cushing won't play Sunday against the Tennessee Titans, per a source close to the player.

Cushing has not felt right in the last two weeks. He has had to have his knee drained several times, per a league source. It's the same knee that Cushing suffered a broken fibula and torn LCL last year, along with a torn ACL two years ago.

The Texans have decided what Cushing needs now is rest to hopefully provide some relief. The Texans play the Titans and the Eagles in the next two weeks. Then they have a bye week. It's a possibility you won't see Cushing back until after the Texans' bye week. The team will continue to monitor and evaluate Cushing's condition through the upcoming weeks.
