Texans Injury Updates: Jadeveon Clowney, Andre Johnson, Arian Foster

By on 10/17/2014 10:55:00 AM

The Houston Texans' injury report for Thursday's practice listed the status for the following players.

Jadeveon Clowney (Knee) did not participate in practice.

Andre Johnson (Ankle) was a limited participant in practice.

Arian Foster (Groin) had limited participation in Thursday's practice.

The odds of whether the Texans' rookie, Jadeveon Clowney, will play Monday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers is 50/50 right now. The team does not want to rush their number one draft pick back too early, only to have him suffer a possible setback. My feeling is he most likely won't play. If he does, it definitely would be for a limited number of plays.

Andre Johnson is just getting rest during the week because of his advanced football age. The Texans want to keep their veteran wide receiver as healthy as possible throughout the season. He has earned the right to take days off or have limitations in practices.

Johnson, 33, who is in his twelfth year, is still a productive receiver and an excellent route-runner. This year he has 34 receptions for 419 yards and one touchdown. Last year at age 32, he had over 1,400 yards receiving and five touchdowns. If you own Johnson in a fantasy football league, how can you not play him?

Arian Foster is also on pace to play. He is another player the Texans are very careful with concerning his health. Last year was disappointing, but this year he has been running strong again with purpose. This opens up the field for the rest of the Texans' offense.

Foster has carried the ball 106 times for 513, for an average of 4.8 a carry and five touchdowns. Foster's fantasy football owners should feel comfortable with him in their lineup against the Steelers Monday night.
