Titans Injury Report: Shonn Greene, Jake Locker

By on 10/19/2014 08:34:00 AM

The Tennessee Titans are sitting on a 2-4 record and heading into Week 7 versus the Washington Redskins with some notable players on their injury list.  After narrowly beating the Jacksonville Jaguars last week, the Titans are still unsure about the health of their starting quarterback Jake Locker.

Locker was sidelined last week with a thumb injury and was officially listed on the team's injury report as questionable.  He participated in limited practice all week, doing a little during individual periods while backup quarterback Charlie Whitehurst took the bulk of the reps.

Locker has missed two starts this season with injuries. He suffered the thumb injury in the first half of the team's October 5th game against the Cleveland Browns.  Whitehurst has posted 604 yards with three touchdowns and one interception in Locker's place this year, and is expected to get the start against the Redskins.

Running back Shonn Greene has already been ruled out earlier this week as he continues to struggle with a hamstring injury.  Greene has rushed for 190 yards on 44 carries and a touchdown in his second season with Tennessee. Rookie running back Bishop Sankey leads the Titans with 211 rushing yards on 50 attempts with one touchdown and is expected to start.

Cornerback Coty Sensabaugh is ruled out with a knee injury after a Wednesday limited practice forced him to sit out the rest of the week.  Tight end Taylor Thompson is out with a knee injury after not practicing all week, along with tight end Craig Stevens as he struggles with a quad injury.

The lone probable player for the Titans is safety George Wilson, as he was upgraded from limited practice to full practice after a calf injury.

The decision of which quarterback will start will be announced today, according to Titans head coach Ken Whisenhunt.

The Tennessee Titans (2-4) take on the Washington Redskins (1-5) today at 1:00 pm EST at Fedex Field in Landover, Maryland.
