Titans Injury Update: Jake Locker hopeful to return for Week 8

By on 10/20/2014 07:06:00 PM

The Tennessee Titans sit at 2-5 after suffering a hard luck loss against the Washington Redskins on Sunday. Charlie Whitehurst stepped in at quarterback for the injured Jake Locker, who missed his third straight game with a thumb injury.

The Titans are hopeful that Locker will be able to return for next week's game against the Houston Texans. He practiced last Wednesday, but then had limited practice the rest of the week and did not play on Sunday. So far Whitehurst has been at the helm of three close games and his stat sheet looks similar for the last two. He was 17/28 with no interceptions in the Titans 16-14 win over the Jaguars, and was 17/26 with two touchdowns and one interception in the 19-17 loss to the Redskins.

In other words, even though Whitehurst has lost two of his three starts, the games were a lot closer than Locker's games have been this year and Locker only has his week one win against the Chiefs to lean on.

Yay or nay, Titans fans?
