Vikings Injury Update: Teddy Bridgewater will play in Week 6

By on 10/04/2014 05:31:00 PM

The Minnesota Vikings have some good news to report after the terrible game they played against the Green Bay Packers last Thursday. The Vikings will have their rookie quarterback, Teddy Bridgewater, in the starting lineup for Week 6 against the Detroit Lions as reported by Mike Coppinger of

Bridgewater was unable to play against the Packers on Thursday because of an ankle injury he suffered the week before. Since there were only four days to get ready, it was simply not enough time for the quarterback to get healthy enough to play. Bridgewater will have plenty of time to recover before next Sunday's game.

It was clear Thursday night that Christian Ponder is not the guy to lead the Vikings. Bridgewater gives the 2-3 team some hope and someone to rally around. The Vikings definitely need to rebound after last week’s loss, and beating a divisional rival like the Lions surely would do the trick.

All of us want to know if Bridgewater is for real after a great game against the Atlanta Falcons, in which he passed for 300 yards and rushed for one touchdown. Obviously, the more he plays, the more defenses will adjust and test the young quarterback. This season has already been an up-and-down one for the Vikings. The emergence of Bridgewater can help turn things around offensively for the team.
