Vikings Injury Update: Teddy Bridgewater is "fine"

By on 10/08/2014 09:21:00 AM

The Minnesota Vikings' head coach Mike Zimmer said Teddy Bridgewater is "fine" for this week's game against the Detroit Lions. That was all the coach had to say on Bridgewater during his press conference that aired on

The rookie quarterback was at practice Tuesday. He is on pace to play this week against the Lions after suffering a ankle injury in Week 4 after his first career start, as reported by Kevin Patra, an Around the NFL writer.

Bridgewater's ankle injury was not considered serious. He would have played last week if the game was on Sunday and not a Thursday night game. That was too quick of a turnaround for him to be ready to play.

Bridgewater looked comfortable in the pocket in his first career start. He does not seem bothered by the spotlight that is on him. One advantage the quarterback has is working with long time coach and Vikings offensive coordinator, Norv Turner. He is known for working very well with young quarterbacks throughout his career.

The Vikings need a win against their divisional rival Lions this week. The team will look to Bridgewater to provide a much needed spark on offense.
