Warriors Injury Update: Brandon Rush leaves game due to back spasms

The Golden State Warriors enter Sunday's game against the Houston Rockets with a 4-1 record in the preseason. Coming off a 51-win season, the Warriors were in the top ten in scoring and points allowed. With the beginning of the regular season in the near future, the Warriors have some injury concerns, as Brandon Rush left Friday's game with back spasms. Shaun Livingston is also out with a toe injury.

As reported by Chris Cwik of, Rush left Friday's game after scoring four points in nine minutes due to back spasms. There is no word yet as to how much time Rush will miss. added that Rush has spent a long time recovering from a serious knee injury.  His presence in the lineup is important considering that Shaun Livingston is also out with a toe injury. Should Rush miss significant time, expect Leandro Barbosa and Nemanja Nedovic to see increased playing time

Rush, in his seventh NBA season, averaged 2.1 points and 1.2 rebounds in just 38 games last season with the Utah Jazz. Rush enjoyed his best season was during his first tour of duty with the Warriors in 2011-2012 when he averaged 9.8 points and 3.9 rebounds per game. Rush has career averages of 8.3 points and 3.3 rebounds in 329 games.
