Athletics Injury Update: John Jaso finally cleared for all activity

By on 11/20/2014 12:00:00 PM

The Oakland A's won 88 games this past season and lost in the AL Wild Card game against the Kansas City Royals. Although the exit in the playoffs was earlier than expected, the A's don't appear to need to do much this winter. They were fourth in the Major Leagues in runs scored and third in ERA. One player who can boost the offense even further is John Jaso, who has been cleared for all baseball activity following a concussion.

Jane Lee, who covers the A's for, tweeted the following update on Jaso.
Lee also noted that first base is a possibility for Jaso.
Jaso, along with Jonny Gomes and Brandon Moss are listed as the designated hitters on the A's depth chart. Expect Jaso go get significant at bats next season at both DH and first base next season.

Jaso hit .264 with nine home runs and 40 RBI in 309 at bats this past season. His best season was with the Mariners when he hit .276 with 10 home runs and 50 RBI in 294 at bats. The veteran has played for the Rays, Mariners and A's and has a career batting average of .259 with 32 home runs and 182 RBI.
