By on 11/18/2014 01:54:00 PM

Semyon Varlamov of the Colorado Avalanche will be day-to-day with a groin injury, according to an announcement made on the Avalanche website. Avalanche have recalled Calvin Pickard from Lake Erie.

Varlamov had been already dealing with a groin ailment this season and was placed on IR in mid-October, missing three games in the process. He had tweaked his groin in a pre-game skate in Ottawa on October 23rd.

Varlamov is 4-5-4 this season with a .918 save percentage and 2.95 GAA. The Colorado Avalanche will play Thursday against the Washington Capitals and, with Varlamov is out, Reto Berra will likely get the call against the Caps.
