Bills Injury Update: Fred Jackson, CJ Spiller

By on 11/04/2014 11:30:00 AM

It was just two short weeks ago that the Buffalo Bills lost their top two running backs in a victory over the Minnesota Vikings. Both Fred Jackson (groin) and C.J. Spiller (shoulder) had to be carted off he field during the contest. On Monday, during the teams first practice since returning from their week nine bye, Fred Jackson was seen on the sideline working with the trainers, the Buffalo Bills official website reports. Jackson is hoping he will be cleared to practice with the team on Wednesday.

While Jackson's injury could possibly keep him out until he 12, he is optimistic it could be sooner. “We’ll see what the doctors say,” Jackson said following his Monday workout. “I’ll meet with them (Tuesday). They wanted to see how things went. Things went well today. I was able to move around on it a little bit. So I’ll meet with them again in the morning and I think we’ll decide then.”

As for Spiller, who is on injured reserve with a designation to return in week 16, he is optimistic he will be able to return this season.
The Bills should provide more information on Jackson's status over the next couple days, while Spiller's rehab should be followed over the next month or so. The Bills should have a better idea of where Spiller stands for the last couple weeks of the season then.
