Blackhawks Injury Update: Andrew Shaw out with upper-body injury

By on 11/21/2014 11:27:00 AM

Chicago Blackhawks center Andrew Shaw was out Thursday night with an upper-body injury, unable to play against the Calgary Flames.

Shaw practiced on Wednesday in Chicago before the team headed to Calgary, but was not on the ice for their skate Thursday morning, as per CSN Chicago. Coach Joel Quenneville said the injury, "could be short term", and did not answer any questions as to whether Shaw's injury was caused by a fight with Dallas Stars forward Antoine Roussel on Sunday night. The Blackhawks will miss Shaw's presence, and some players thought his fight on Sunday was the turning point in the game, which the Blackhawks won 6-2.

Shaw has six points (three goals, three assists) so far this season.
