Broncos Injury Update: Ronnie Hillman out 2-3 weeks

By on 11/11/2014 12:00:00 PM

Coming off a 41-17 victory over the Oakland Raiders on Sunday, there is not very much bad news surrounding the Denver Broncos right now. But running back Ronnie Hillman suffered a left foot injury during the game, and despite being able to return briefly he will reportedly miss at least two weeks after being diagnosed with a midfoot sprain.

In Hillman's absence against the Raiders, C.J. Anderson had 163 yards from scrimmage, highlighted by a 51-yard touchdown on a screen pass from Peyton Manning. Montee Ball (groin) is expected to return this week against St. Louis Rams after missing the last five games, so the Broncos suddenly look flush with options at running back.

Broncos' head coach John Fox said Hillman will be considered "day-to-day" on Monday, but at this point he looks likely to at least miss next Sunday's game against St. Louis. Fantasy owners can hang onto Hillman until a more definite timetable for his return is offered, but Ball has become a viable option again and should be owned in all leagues.
