Broncos Inury Update: Montee Ball expected to return

By on 11/13/2014 10:32:00 AM

Denver Broncos starting RB Montee Ball is expected to return this week after missing time due to a groin injury which kept him out for five games. He fully practiced yesterday with the team for the first time since his groin injury.

The news was first reported by NFL reporter Michael Fabiano via twitter.

Ball practiced with the team yesterday fully after being limited in practice last week. The Broncos are coming of a 41-17 win against the Oakland Raiders and will be looking to win again versus the Rams in St. Louis.

According to, "Ball, who practiced on a limited basis last week and was then held out of the Broncos’ 41-17 win Sunday over the Oakland Raiders, took part fully in Wednesday’s practice and looks on track to be uniform for Sunday’s game against the St. Louis Rams. It was the first time Ball had participated fully in practice since he suffered a right groin injury Oct. 5 against the Arizona Cardinals. The Broncos practiced, as is their custom on Wednesdays, in full pads."

This season Ball has been somewhat successful after a great rookie year. In four games Ball rushed for 172 yards with one touchdown as well as receiving nine passes for 62 yards through the passing game.

For the 27th-ranked Denver Broncos rushing offense, the return of Ball is huge. Ball was able to break FBS rushing records while at Wisconsin. I expect some of that same magic to come back on Sunday against the Rams.
