Bruins Injury Update: Adam McQuaid out 6-8 weeks

By on 11/19/2014 06:00:00 PM

The Boston Bruins are getting unlucky when it comes to injuries this season. Especially when the injuries seem to only affect the defenseman. The Bruins have announced that Adam McQuaid will miss 6-8 weeks with an upper-body injury.

McQuaid suffered a broken thumb during Tuesday night's game against the St. Louis Blues. McQuaid left midway through the second period after blocking a shot and did not return.

Nobody knew the extent to the injury. He was reevaluated on Wednesday morning in Boston. It was later announced that McQuaid would be out 6-8 weeks.

McQuaid is not the only defenseman that's been injured this season. Out of the roster players who are out long term,  Zdeno Chara is out with a knee injury, and  Kevan Miller with a shoulder injury.

So far this season McQuaid has played 20 games had one goal and one assist.
