Chara has been out since late October after suffering a knee injury against the New York Islanders. Physical tests showed that Chara had a tear on his PCL and was expected to miss anywhere from 4-6 weeks...but according to General Manager Peter Chiarelli it could have been sooner or later.
The defenseman was lucky to not need surgery to repair the damage. But when asked about it, he says "we will see" indicating he might not be fully recovered when he return (as everyday could be different).
The GOOD news? Chara recently started skating and he could return back to the lineup within the next 10-14 days (if everything goes as planned).
According to GM Peter Chiarelli, Zdeno Chara could be playing w/Bruins in the next "10 days to two weeks" http://t.co/2MTsqd7Ogt #BruinsTalk

So far this season he has only played 9 games, has 2 goals and 1 assist.
