Canadiens Injury Update: Michael Bournival starts Skating

By on 11/19/2014 07:30:00 PM

The Montreal Canadiens have been pretty lucky when it comes to injuries this season. The roster has been pretty healthy except for Michael Bournival suffering an upper-body injury (out 4-6 weeks) and Mike Weaver now out day-to-day.

Michael Bournival suffered an upper-body injury on Wednesday November 5th during a game against the Buffalo Sabres. It was Bournival's second game of the season before he left midway through, after playing just over 3 minutes.

It was clear the upper-body injury was his shoulder. He was reevaluated the next day in Brossard. About ten days later he started skating alone with the teams athletic trainer. He has continued skating over the past couple of days as well.

It is not yet said when he will be able to skate with his teammates or play. Bournival has had a rough start to the season. He was a healthy scratch for several games, played one full game and half of his second game before the injury occurred. He has 0 points with the Habs.
Bournival also played 4 games with the Hamilton Bulldogs this season. He had 1 goal and 3 assists.
