Canadiens Injury Update: Mike Weaver is day-to-day with upper-body injury

By on 11/19/2014 06:30:00 PM

The Montreal Canadiens were without veteran defenseman Mike Weaver during Tuesday night's game against the Pittsburgh Penguins. It appeared to be a game time decision as he practiced earlier in the day with the team.

Weaver is said to be out day-to-day with an unknown upper-body injury. He was evaluated this morning on ice one in Brossard, while his teammates were practicing on ice two.

His absence was felt as the team lost 4-0 to the Penguins on home ice.

With Weaver out, the team had Nathan Beaulieu back on defense with Tom Gilbert and they inserted Hamilton call-up Drayson Bowman into the lineup on the forth line.

Even though Weaver skated Wednesday morning and appears to be day-to-day, there is no word on whether or not he will return to the lineup on Thursday against the St. Louis Blues. It will likely be a game-time decision.
