Canucks Injury Update: Kevin Bieksa leaves game with an eye injury

By on 11/03/2014 01:28:00 PM

In the first period of their 3-1 loss to Nashville, the Vancouver Canucks lost defenseman Kevin Bieksa to an eye injury. He was involved in a pretty minor collision behind the Vancouver goal and went to the ice immediately. Video of the injury is below:

Dhiren Mahiban from Pro Hockey Talk reported that Bieksa was able to skate off the ice under his own power. He immediately went to the locker room and did not return to the game. Bieska is one of the team leaders in terms of shifts played (29) and Time on Ice (189:53). He also has one assist through twelve games this season. His entire ten year NHL career has been with the Canucks since entering the league as a fifth round pick in the 2001 NHL entry draft.

Vancouver had their four-game winning streak snapped by Nashville on Sunday. Their next game will be Tuesday in Colorado against the Avalanche. The Canucks are 8-4-0 and tied for second in the Pacific division.
