Capitals Injury Update: Alex Ovechkin game-time decision against Islanders

The Washington Capitals could be without star forward tonight. Alex Ovechkin suffered from an upper-body tweak Tuesday morning before practice started and missed the practice.

With the uncertainty if Ovechkin will play on Wednesday night. There is hope for the fans. He flew with the team to New York. This morning the Captain participated in a full skate and took line rushes with his regular teammates. He said he is good to go.

“Feel good,” Ovechkin said. ‘Just one part of my body didn’t feel great. It’s better today, so I’m in.”

Coach Barry Trotz was hopeful on Tuesday (after practice) that Ovechkin would be able to play.

However, coach Trotz said on after game-day skate, “Right now he’s taking warm-up and he’ll be a game-time decision,” “I have a pretty strong feeling he’ll play.”

So far this season Ovechkin has yet to miss a game. He has played 20 games, 9 goals and 9 assists.
