Cardinals Injury Update: Larry Fitzgerald suffers knee injury

By on 11/18/2014 10:30:00 AM

The Arizona Cardinals beat the Detroit Lions on Sunday and did it without much help from wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, as he suffered an injury to his left knee about five minutes before halftime. Fitzgerald was back on the field for the second half, but appeared limited and caught just one pass for 11 yards, bringing his total for the day to two catches for 33 yards.

After receiving an MRI on his knee on Monday, it was revealed that Fitzgerald has a grade 2 MCL sprain.

Despite the sprain, Fitzgerald is expected to suit up for Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks and their ferocious secondary. Even if Fitzgerald is able to play, he likely will not be 100%, is facing a tough defense on the road, and has erratic, backup quarterback Drew Stanton throwing him the ball, meaning you will want to bench him in fantasy. If he's able to get through the Seattle game without further injury, he has a cushy matchup against the Atlanta Falcons in week 13.

Fitzgerald has 658 receiving yards and two touchdowns this season, and has picked up his play as of late after a slow start, although his best games came with Carson Palmer at quarterback, who is out for the season with a torn ACL.
