Cavaliers Injury Update: Dion Waiters returns ot practice, probably for Friday

The Cleveland Cavaliers head into Friday's game against the Boston Celtics coming off a 118-111 win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday. The win improved the Cavaliers to 3-3, two games behind the Chicago Bulls in the Central Division. LeBron James lead the Cavaliers with 32 points and 11 rebounds. The Cavaliers were without guard Dion Waiters with a back injury. The good news is that he was back in practice and should be ready for Friday's game.

Waiters,who missed Monday night's game against the Pelicans due to a bruised back, was listed as day-to-day. Rookie Joe Harris  saw increased action in place of Waiters, scoring five points in 20 minutes.

Chris Haynes, who covers the Cavaliers at, tweeted the following update on Waiters.
With Waiters returning, Harris will be back to third on the depth chart at shooting guard behind James and Waiters.

Waiters, in his third NBA season out of Syracuse, is averaging 9.4 points on just 35.4 percent shooting from the floor this season. He averaged 15.9 points, three assists and 2.8 rebounds in 70 games last season. Waiters has career averages of 15.1 points,  2.9 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game.
