Chargers Injury Report: Dwight Freeney, Ryan Mathews, Eddie Royal

By on 11/29/2014 05:00:00 PM

The 7-4 San Diego Chargers make the trip east to take on the 7-4 Baltimore Ravens on Sunday afternoon. With the AFC crowded with teams vying for a spot in the playoffs, this is a big game for both teams. The Chargers offense is looking to get going full throttle, but have two of their offensive weapons listed on the injury report with RB Ryan Mathews (shoulder) and WR Eddie Royal (toe) highlighting the list.

Ryan Mathews, who just recently returned to the lineup after suffering an early season knee injury, banged up his shoulder in the Chargers victory over the St. Louis Rams last week. Mathews is listed as probable on the Chargers official injury report after practicing in full all week. The Chargers are looking for him to help the running game be more consistent.

Eddie Royal, who got off to a tremendous start to the season, has been slowed as of late and also has been battling a toe injury. He was also a full participant in practice all week and is listed as probable.

OLB Dwight Freeney was a full participant in practice on Thursday but missed Friday's practice for non-injury reasons. reports it was just a day of rest for Freeney and he does not have an official status for Sunday's game. If it was just rest, he should be good to go on Sunday.

Only NT Ryan Carrethers (elbow) has been ruled out, with ILB Andrew Gachkar (knee) listed as doubtful after neither practiced all week. G Ryan Miller (groin) and DT Tenny Palepoi (non-injury related) are listed as questionable, with S Jahleel Addae (concussion) joining Mathews and Royal as probable.
