Chiefs Injury Update: Jamaal Charles suffers stinger, returns to game

By on 11/10/2014 05:00:00 PM

Once again Jamaal Charles was the biggest offensive weapon for the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills. Charles ran for 98 yards on 15 carries, including a 39 yard dash on 4th and 1 to cut the Bills lead to 13-10 in the 4th quarter. Charles did have a scare after suffering a stinger though, causing him to miss one series according to Arrowhead Pride. He was able to return and on his first carry ran for 17 yards.

A stinger, also known as a burner, is a spine injury characterized by a stinging feeling down one arm, followed by numbness or weakness. It often goes unreported due to the high frequency of players sustaining the injury and its minor symptoms.

Terez A. Paylor reported on Twitter the Chiefs confirmed the injury:
The injury was a scare for the Chiefs and Charles' fantasy owners, but it looks like he should be good to go following the scare. Keep an eye out for any updates the Chiefs may have, as well as Charles' participation in practice this week to alleviate any concerns.
