Colts Injury Report: Vontae Davis, Arthur Jones, Reggie Wayne

By on 11/03/2014 01:30:00 PM

The Indianapolis Colts got some good news on the injury front this week ahead of their matchup with the New York Giants on “Monday Night Football.”

Indianapolis does have a pair of defensive starters listed on it's final Week 9 injury report, but cornerback Vontae Davis will be able to play after missing the end of last week's loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers with a knee injury. Davis has been one of the top corners in the NFL this season and is likely the Colts' best defensive player after Robert Mathis was lost for the year with a torn Achilles tendon.

This news is less positive for linebacker Erik Walden, who left the game against Pittsburgh with a hip injury and has been ruled out. Backup linebacker Josh McNary is also out with an ankle injury, so Indianapolis' depth at the position will be tested.

Defensive tackle Arthur Jones appeared to aggravate his ankle sprain last week after missing five games with the injury and has been ruled out. Jones is a key member of the Colts' front seven, so they will likely try to rest him until he's fully healed.

Everyone else should be available on Monday night. Wide receiver Reggie Wayne is expected to return to action after missing the Pittsburgh game with an elbow injury.

Linebacker D'Qwell Jackson was held out of Thursday's practice with a toe injury but will play. Running back Ahmad Bradshaw received a regular day off on Thursday.

The Colts were absolutely torched by Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers last week, so Davis' return is huge news. Indianapolis will attempt to extend it's AFC South lead against the Giants before having a bye week to heal up some of the other defensive players.
