Ducks Injury Update: Beauchemin will return tonight, Smith-Pelly is "good to go"

By on 11/20/2014 01:30:00 PM

The Anaheim Ducks will be getting a big help on defense tonight, as defenseman Francois Beauchemin will be returning to play against the Vancouver Canucks.

Beauchemin missed five games due to contracting the mumps; he ran a high fever and has a great deal of swelling in his face and neck during the incubation period, as per the Orange County Register. Beauchemin had no problems getting back into action, as he left the hospital on Thursday and was on a stationary bike by Sunday. Right-winger Devante Smith-Pelly also said he is "good to go" after missing three games due to a shoulder injury, which he sustained during last week's home game against the Los Angeles Kings when he was "squished against the boards."

Smith-Pelly has seven points (three goals, four assists) this season, while Beauchemin has four (four assists) points.
