Ducks Injury Update: Corey Perry will not play Sunday night, Beauchemin a "maybe"

By on 11/09/2014 10:30:00 AM

The flu is still causing havoc in the Ducks' lineup. Corey Perry did not attend practice on Saturday and is not expected to play on Sunday, the team reports. He's slated to miss his third straight game with the flu.

Perry is currently tied for the league-lead in goals with 11, the same number as Rangers forward Rick Nash.

He's having a fantastic start to the season. After having a point-a-game season in 2013-14, he has pretty much continued where he left off, with 15 points in 13 games played this season.

This is obviously a major loss for the team, who can't wait to have him back on the ice. The Ducks have lost both games he has missed.

Defenseman Francois Beauchemin also missed practice on Saturday, as he has also caught the flu. His status for Sunday's game is still up in the air.

“There are always different variables to the flu,” said head coach Bruce Boudreau. “It depends on how bad [Beauchemin] gets it. We’ll see how he is when he wakes up [Sunday] morning.”

The 34-year-old veteran defenseman leads the team with 22:50 TOI/game.

This is tough flu that is going through the Ducks' dressing room. Captain Ryan Getzlaf also missed last Wednesday's game.
