Falcons Injury Report: Devin Hester, Harry Douglas, Josh Wilson

By on 11/16/2014 07:00:00 AM

Atlanta Falcons starting CB Josh Wilson (ankle) and wide receivers Devin Hester (ankle) and Harry Douglas (foot) are all listed as questionable going into Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers. The Falcons (3-6) are considered second in the NFC South and could be potentially tied for first place with New Orleans if the Saints lose their game against Cincinnati on Sunday.

The news of Wilson, Hester and Douglas's conditions was reported via the Atlanta Falcons injury report.

hile CB Josh Wilson's Wednesday and Thursday status remain unavailable, he did return back to practice on Friday on a limited basis. This season, Wilson has recorded 17 tackles along with four passes defended. He is a much-needed piece on a defense that has been struggling against the pass this season. Wilson is questionable at the moment, but could see action Sunday considering his limited practice time on Friday.

On offense, wide receivers Devin Hester and Harry Douglas are listed as questionable as well. Hester, along with Douglas, did not partake in practice on Wednesday, but returned to the practice field in a limited capacity on Thursday and Friday.

This season Hester has 19 catches for 268 yards and a touchdown along with 23 yards and a touchdown on the ground in nine games this season.

Douglas, on the other hand, has 15 receptions for 163 yards and a touchdown in just five games.

While Hester's punt and kick returning abilities far surpass those of Douglas, Douglas still has a distinct advantage over Hester in the passing game. Last season, Douglas caught 85 passes for 1,067 yards and two touchdowns.

More likely than not, Douglas and Hester will end up going on Sunday. Their injuries, while enough to keep them out of practice, do not seem to be career-threatening. Matt Ryan does have WR Julio Jones, RB Steven Jackson and WR Roddy White to throw to in case Douglas and Hester are absent from Sunday's game. While Jones and White are formidable targets, Matt Ryan needs Douglas and Hester in order to keep the Panthers and their 23rd-ranked pass defense off of its toes.
