By on 11/05/2014 06:42:00 PM

The Philadelphia Flyers lost a critical offensive player on Tuesday night. Forward Michael Raffl will be out for six weeks with a lower-body injury.

NHL.com reported that he was injured when he blocked a shot by Mark Fayne midway through the third period. Raffl was staggered momentarily, but remained in the game for a few more shifts. He was well on his way of setting career highs in goals, assists and total points this season. This will be his second full NHL season and he currently has six goals and one assist in 12 games. In the 2013-2014 season, he had nine goals and 13 assists through 68 games.

The next game for the Flyers is on Thursday at home against the Florida Panthers. Currently, Philadelphia is 5-5-2 and in third place in the Metropolitan Division.
