Flyers Injury Update: Giroux misses morning skate, injury unkown after doctor evaluation yesterday

By on 11/19/2014 01:01:00 AM

Despite what the Flyers claimed Monday Night, captain Claude Giroux isn't "fine." The morning after missing a team function to see doctors about a mystery illness/injury, Giroux was absent again from the Flyers practice Tuesday morning at Skate Zone due to a lower-body injury that has yet to be announced.

TheScore.com learned of the injury from someone with knowledge who requested anonymity because Flyers GM Ron Hextall has a rule that only he and the actual injured player are permitted to talk about injuries.

Hextall wasn't immediately available for comment because he's attending the GM Meetings in Toronto.

The extent of Giroux's injury isn't known, but his teammates talked as if he might be available to suit up for the Flyers' game Wednesday night against the Rangers at Madison Square Garden.
