Giants Injury Update: Rashad Jennings, Mathias Kiwanuka

By on 11/08/2014 08:17:00 AM

The New York Giants probably won't see their top running back return to the field this week. Josh Alper at profootballtalk.nbcsports.com reports that although Rashad Jennings returned to the practice field on a limited basis, he is listed as "doubtful" for Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Jennings sprained his left knee in week 5 and the Giants running game hasn't been the same since. He did provide a glimmer of hope when he told reporters earlier this week that “It’s getting close.”

Backup running back Andre Williams has not excelled in Jennings' absence. He's only averaging 3 yards per carry and has 3 touchdowns on the season. Jennings showed a lot of promise coming into the season after successful stints as a backup in Jacksonville and Oakland.

The good news is defensive end Mathias Kiwanuka is expected to play. He's listed as "questionable" on the team's official injury report. He also has a knee injury.
