Hornets Injury Update: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist to miss the next two games with a stress reaction in his right foot

The Charlotte Hornets defeated the Phoenix Suns last night by the score of 103-95. The win improved the Hornets to 4-5, fourth in the Southeast Division. Kemba Walker lead the Hornets in scoring with 19 points on 8-of-16 shooting from the floor. The Hornets were without starting small forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist due to a stress reaction in his right foot.

P.J. Hairston replaced Kidd-Gilchrist in the starting lineup and scored nine points on 3-of-8 shooting from the floor in 17 minutes. With Kidd-Gilchrist out tonight against the Warriors, expect Hairston, Gerald Henderson and Gary Neal get extended minutes.

Kidd-Gilchrist, in his third NBA season out of Kentucky, is averaging 9.8 points on 62.5 percent shooting and 5.5 rebounds per game this season. In 62 games last season, he averaged 7.2 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. Kidd-Gilchrist has career averages of 8.3 points on 46.9 percent shooting and 5.6 rebounds per game.
