Hornets Injury Update: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist ruled 'out' for tonight's game against the Pelicans

Unfortunately, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist will not be in the lineup tonight when the Charlotte Hornets take on Anthony Davis and the Pelicans.

Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer broke the news of MKG’s status for tonight’s game on Twitter.

Bad news for the Hornets, but the injury really could have been a lot worse. Just check out the Vine. I couldn’t watch it without flinching.

Now, I normally don’t do this, but given his notable start to the year and noticeable work he has put in over the summer, MGK’s numbers this year are impressive – 11.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.3 blocks per game. He is also shooting a dominant .688 from the field. Yes, it’s early and yes, it’s only been three games, but if MGK continues to develop the way he is, with Jefferson, Walker and Stephenson playing strong, the Hornets are as dangerous as any team in the East.
