The Charlotte Hornets lost to the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday by the score of 105-97. The loss dropped the Hornets to 4-12 on the season, last in the Southeast Division. Brian Roberts lead the Hornets with 20 points in the losing effort. On the injury front, rookie P.J. Hairston, who just returned from an ankle sprain, left after 21 minutes of action due to a sprained thumb.

Rick Bonnell, who covers the Hornets for the Charlotte Observer, tweeted the following on Hairston's injury.
Hairston is currently listed as day-to-day. Expect Lance Stephenson and Roberts to see the majority of the minutes at shooting guard should Hairston miss any time.

Hairston, a rookie out of North Carolina, is averaging 5.1 points on just 35.7 percent shooting from the floor, and 1.4 rebounds in 14.7 minutes per game. Hairston averaged 14.6 points and 4.3 rebounds in 23.6 minutes per game last season at North Carolina.
