Kings Injury Update: Justin Williams will not play Thursday after receiving a high stick

By on 11/05/2014 05:11:00 PM

Los Angeles Kings forward Justin Williams will be out of the lineup on Thursday night when the Kings take on the New York Islanders due to blurred vision in his right eye. As reported by The Score, Williams suffered the eye injury after taking a high stick by Brenden Dillon close to his eye in the teams 3-1 win over the Dallas Stars yesterday.

With Williams scheduled to miss the Kings next game, it will also end his consecutive games played streak at 225. Williams has not missed a game for Los Angeles since the 2010-2011 season. He played in all 82 games in 2011-2012, all 48 games (of the lockout shortened season) in 2012-2013, all 82 games last season and the Kings 13 games so far this season.

Williams is in his 16th NHL season with previous stops in Philadelphia and Carolina.
