Knicks Injury Update: Andrea Bargnani's timetable for return is still unknown

By on 11/30/2014 06:00:00 AM

The New York Knicks enter today's game against the Miami Heat coming off a 105-78 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Knicks were lead by Amar'e Stoudemire who scored 20 points and hauled in nine rebounds in the loss. At 4-13, the Knicks sit in fourth place in the Atlantic Division. On the injury front, Andrea Bargnani continues to be sidelined with injuries and his return to the lineup is unknown.

I reported on November 22 that Bargnani, who had been out with a hamstring injury since early in the month, returned to practice but injured his calf.

An update on Bargnani, as posted at Rotowire.com, is that there is still no timetable for his return. The hamstring injury continues to linger. Now he's dealing with the calf injury and at the moment should be considered out of the lineup for the foreseeable future.

Quincy Acy and Stoudemire should continue to see the bulk of the minutes at power forward until Bargnani returns.

Bargnani, in his ninth NBA season, averaged 13.3 points and 5.3 rebounds in 42 games for the Knicks last season. The veteran center has played for the Raptors and Knicks and has career averages of 15 points and 4.9 rebounds per game.
