Lions Injury Updates: Calvin Johnson, Reggie Bush

By on 11/20/2014 10:45:00 AM

The Detroit Lions only scored six points last Sunday in their loss against the Arizona Cardinals, and with a matchup against the New England Patriots this Sunday, their offense will need to improve in order to have any shot of winning. Wide receiver Calvin Johnson and running back Reggie Bush have both been banged up as of late, and their services will be needed in order to keep pace with the high-powered Patriots' offense.

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Johnson missed practice yesterday because of his previous ankle injury. It should not be concerning as he did not practice last Wednesday either, before suiting up against the Cardinals. Johnson was shutdown (by his standards) in the game however, catching just five passes for 59 yards and no touchdowns, although the Cardinals have one of the leagues' best defenses.

After missing last week's game with a lingering ankle issue of his own, Bush was able to return to practice yesterday in limited fashion. This bodes well for his chances to play Sunday, especially if he is able to get a full practice in either today or tomorrow.

If Johnson is able to play on Sunday, he is a must-start in fantasy despite his poor performance last week. Bush on the other hand is more of a dicey play, as he has been inconsistent all season, never topping 100 total yards in any game and scoring just one touchdown for the season. Check back for practice updates on both players and how it looks for Sunday's game.
