Magic Injury Update: Kyle O'Quinn held out of morning shoot around

By on 11/04/2014 03:00:00 PM

The Orlando Magic head into tonight's game against the Chicago Bulls looking for their first win of the 2014-2015 season. At 0-3, the Magic are near the bottom of the NBA in points scored and points allowed. On the injury front, power forward Kyle O'Quinn was held out of this morning's shoot around and likely will be out for tonight's game.

I reported on November 1 that O'Quinn, who missed the previous game against the Washington Wizards, was a game-time decision due to an ankle sprain.

Josh Robbins, who covers the Magic for the Orlando Sentinel, tweeted the following on O'Quinn's status.
With O'Quinn out, Channing Frye saw most of the minutes at power forward against the Raptors. He scored 11 points on 4-of-10 shooting in 31 minutes of action. Expect Frye to continue to see the bulk of the work at power forward until O'Quinn returns.

O'Quinn, in his third NBA season out of Norfolk State,  averaged 6.2 points and 5.3 rebounds in 69 games last season. In 127 career games, all with the Magic, O'Quinn has averages of 5.2 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.
