Mavericks Injury Update: Raymond Felton is considered doubtful for Thursday's game

Mavericks point guard Raymond Felton is doubtful for the Mavericks' game on Thursday with a right ankle sprain. After serving a four game suspension for pleading guilty to attempted criminal possession of a firearm and weapon in July, Thursday's game against the Trail Blazers marks the first game he's eligible to play in.
Felton's return will have to wait though, after it was humorously revealed by Blazers beat writer Joe Freeman that the point guard will miss Dallas' upcoming game.
The injury occurred a month ago on October 10th during a Mavericks preseason contest against the Oklahoma City Thunder. It was originally reported to be a high ankle sprain and Felton only expected to miss about 10 days, however the sprain did not heal quickly enough for Felton to return in time to make another appearance in the preseason. Felton's likely return date is Friday, when Dallas travels to Utah to face the Jazz.

Coming off of his worst season as a pro, Felton has been relegated to back up status on a guard-heavy Mavericks team. Felton will come off the bench to share minutes at point guard with Devin Harris and Jameer Nelson, but will likely see the least amount of court time among the trio.
